Tie dying with Bai minority friends

A family business happily incorporated us into their daily routine. We made our own tie dyes and watch these experts at work. These aunties liked me in their native attire. We patted each other's cheeks exclaiming that each beautiful - the one word I know in Chinese. Yunnan Province is worth further exploration.

The lovely Linden Center in Xichou was founded by Jeanee and Brian Linden. They have carefully restored a historic merchant's home near the route of the Tea Horse Road. The Flying Tigers flew their missions from Kunming during WWII. The center is surrounded by garlic fields ripening in the sun. We watched cormorants fishing on Lake Erhai and made home made baba loaded with lard.
